Bristol techno-punks SCALPING release ‘Chamber’

“Messed up in the best possible way…completely immersive and disorientating” NME

“Tinges of HEALTH’s earlier, mayhem-ier roots glint through the chaos…these sounds are not really like anything else about” Line of Best Fit

Straight off the back of a phenomenal year of live audio-visual shows, which saw the band emerge as a must watch at Crack Magazine’s stage at Simple Things, ArcTanGent and their debut headline shows as well as support for Ho9909, Holy Fuck and Marie Davidson. ‘Chamber’ marks Scalping’s debut release and also the first release of brand-new, London-based imprint Council Records.

Armed with a battery of squelching synths, animalistic rhythms and gritty, piercing guitars ‘Chamber’ is an ambitious and unrelenting debut, charged with hyperactive energy, precision and technical dexterity in equal measure.

Scalping are the Bristol outfit of James Rushforth, Alexander Hill, Isaac Jones and Jamie Thomas. Formed in 2017 through a love of Bristol’s visionary off-the-wall dance music and full throttle noise and punk.

Capturing the tribalism of big room bangers from Giant Swan, Daniel Avery and Factory Floor, Chamber collides this with the forceful industrious noise of Gnod or Metz. 2019 has the Bristol collective set with several live dates:
