The Music You’ve Heard, But the Name You Don’t Know… Ric Mills Set To Release ‘Profoundly Piano’

Having composed for countless films and television programmes, not to mention his time as one of ‘the voices’ of Channel Four (including the coveted job of introducing Big Brother), Ric Mills’ music (and voice) has been heard by millions worldwide, but, like so many composers, few will know his name. However, this is all about the change with the release of his album ‘Profoundly Piano – A Personal Sketchbook’.

Following the release of his album ‘Found’ where Ric was described by Neuvo Culture to “traverse through the classically inspired melodies and create a place where we can feel at peace and transported another point in time”, the talented composer has laid out a series of tracks that are definitively bare and moving.

From the plaintive opening notes of the reassuring yet reflective Sarà Valsa la Pena to the sparse yet poignant Presente, Profoundly Piano is not an album which demands you follow a dictated narrative path but one which asks the listener to close their eyes and paint their own pictures.

Despite this being only Ric’s second album, his contribution to the music industry is undeniably prolific. From Universal in Australia using his music in trailers to his music making its way onto The One Show, Horizon, E4’s promo for Marvel’s Agents of Shield and The Bachelor (garnering a nomination at the 2017 Production Music Awards in London) Ric undeniably has a skill in affecting mood and capturing the essence of the moment and his journey to Profoundly Piano is worthy of a blockbuster theme itself.
