From Naples with Love Experimental Italian Nu-Soul Volcano, Phonix, Releases New Single and Video

Artist: Phonix

Title: My Love
and My Teacher

Release: Single
out now

From the shadow of Mount Vesuvius in Italy comes Phonix, a pop singer, songwriter and a producer
whose wide love of music touches every track he creates in entirely different
ways. Whilst his debut track, Rock and Roll, released in the summer of 2018, directly
reflected his universe of musical heroes, from rock to rhythm and blues, from Elvis Presley, The Beatles,
James Brown, to Michael Jackson and Stevie
his latest track, My Love and
My Teacher
is pure Phonix. A blend of synthesizer, soul, funk,
vocal choir and groove, like all his tracks, it is solely written, arranged,
produced and performed by the man himself, an artist who is looking to put
Italy on the map as a hotbed of the nu sound of European R&B and Soul.

My Love, My Teacher here:

Phonix has spent his whole life as a musician – he
is self-taught on a dizzyingly wide range of instruments from piano to electric
guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, drums and mandolin. Whilst Italy might be most
famous to many for Classical Music, Opera, Disco and House, their Soul and
R&B scene has been largely overlooked. Phonix has been at the heart of this
movement, producing and collaborating with many up-coming artists in his self-built
studio, Snap Music,
in the heart of Naples. After the positive reaction to his debut single, he
released the follow-up, Soon, in March 2019 which was accompanied by a video
directed and created by Antonio Funaro, noted for his special effects work on
the likes of Spider-Man: Far from Home
and Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.

Phonix’s new song, My Love and My
confirms the artist’s ability to integrate
experimental sound with the most striking grooves of international pop and the
mesmerising rhythms of top club tunes with amazing results. The protagonist of
the video, which reunites Phonix once again with director Antonio Funaro,
is Caitlin-Rose Lacey,
scouted by James Beresford
at Shepherd Management
and chosen for the role of Kennedy
in the Disney series, Find Me in Paris. The video is a hard-hitting look at the highs
and lows of relationships and to always look to love and compassion as an
answer, not violent and hate. It comes with an advisory warning for those who
could be affected by violent scenes.
