Vanderocker – F.F.O: The Pixies; St Vincent; Sleater Kinney

Vanderocker returns with the release of ‘The Good Punk’, a head-swirling, mystical, indie maverick which will also soon be made into a short film.

Four sparkling new songs – including a bonus instrumental track – combine psychedelic, indie, and electro-pop genres and encompass themes liked to anatomy, voyeurism and duality. All together, the record undoubtedly affirms Vanderocker’s position as one of the most thrilling alternative indie acts releasing new music today.

“In my mind, it’s a basic study of humans on different levels, almost from an Alien National Geographic kind of perspective… I find comfort in all of it, when I can step back and observe us the way a newcomer might.” – Vanderocker

Vanderocker’s early music was an experimental variation of retro rock blended with electronica yet she’s expanded her horizons on each subsequent release to include devotional music, to roadhouse blues, trip-hop, avant-garde, electro and indie pop.

The lead track on ‘The Good Punk’ EP is ‘Supercell’ – a track which idealises the thought of the power created when humans come together for a cause.

This theme is embellished throughout the song, with its brain-teasing melody and addictive chorus reinforcing Vanderocker’s ‘mother of all storms’ definition of her lead track.
