If you’re already sick and tired of January, then at least you’ll have something to look forward to next month.
Glasgow-based electro-pop mastermind, Leif Coffield, is due to release a brand new single on 5th February, titled ‘Say My Name’.
Having gained support throughout 2020 from Clash Music and national BBC Radio, Leif is looking to unleash his boundary-breaking dark pop to the world in 2021.

Leif has already captured the world’s attention with his razor-sharp lyrics and innovative style which slices through thick, textured, electronic waves of indie, dark contemporary pop and hip-hop.
‘Say My Name’ is no different. The song tackles the feelings of being suppressed in a relationship and yearning to break free and rediscover who you are.

His upcoming single is eerie, apocalyptic, and stunningly innovative for the genre of dark electro-pop. This track looks to cement him as one of the UK’s most exciting new artists in the genre.
Listening to Leif’s other songs, I found his tracks are a brilliant mix of mysterious darkness, which echos through Leif’s vocals, and a euphoric wave of sound amplified through cleverly layered loops and synths.
Tracks ‘Monsta-San’ and ‘Wanderlust’ (feat. Grant Coffield) are ones to listen to also, certainly if you want to get a feel of what’s to come from his new single ‘Say My Name’.

Leif’s interest in minimalist and brutalist imagery can be seen in the stunning video which accompanies ‘Say My Name’. The starkness of the run-down council flat setting is at odds with the stunning choreography of the dancers and the music.
Altogether, this upcoming talent is an extraordinary mix of dark indie folk, electro pop and hip-hop, all of which comes together perfectly under Leif’s dedication to sound design and atmosphere.
