Glasgow-based duo, Craig McKissick and Ali Whitty – AKA der Mist – are ready to release their first singles from their forthcoming self-titled debut album.

After an exclusive listen to the soon-to-be released tracks, I can tell you with confidence, the intoxicating mix of rock, pop, synth and electronics leaves you in a space between the hard rock 70’s and the electric 80’s.

At first glance, its easy to pass this video off as a cartoon about a three-eyed space girl and her one-eyed dog driving in a convertible retro floaty car through a futurama-esque alien world. Standard stuff.

But on closer look, this video is about self acceptance and reflection. Wouldn’t we all like to be a cool space girl riding on a car to drink some space dust in a space bar? She screams and runs from being faced with herself, ultimately to come face to face and see into herself clearly.

This video is perfect for those evenings after a long walk to the park. You know what I mean. Lie back, chill and listen to the hypnotic beats of Chelou.

New Sex Pistols Biopic is Coming!

Director Danny Boyle is set to oversee a brand new series biopic based on the Sex Pistol’s guitarist, Steve Jones, called Pistol.

Based on Jones’ 2018 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, the limited series has a brilliant cast lined up, including Game of Thrones‘ Maisie Williams, who will play punk icon Jordan – aka Pamela Rooke – and Babyteeth‘s Toby Wallace as Jones.

Anson Boon (1917) will play John Lydon, Louis Partridge (Enola Homes) will take on Sid Vicious, Jacob Slater stars as Paul Cook and Fabien Frankel (The Serpent) will play Glen Matlock.

The six-part series “moves from West London’s council estates, to Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s notorious Kings Road SEX shop, to the international controversy that came with the release of Never Mind the Bollocks, which is frequently listed as one of the most influential albums of all time.

Nicki Minaj to pay Tracy Chapman $450k in out-of-court copyright settlement

As reported by NME, Nicki Minaj and Tracy Chapman have settled their two-year legal dispute out of court, with Chapman accepting a £330,000 (US$450,000) payment from Minaj. Chapman filed a copyright infringement suit against the rapper in October 2018, alleging that Minaj’s song, ‘Sorry’, sampled her 1988 track, ’Baby Can I Hold You’ without permission.

Court documents made public this week revealed that last month, the pair reached an out-of-court settlement.

Arrest warrant issued after Katy Perry’s alleged stalker misses court date

As reported by NME, an arrest warrant has been issued for Katy Perry’s alleged stalker after he failed to show up to a court date yesterday (January 8).

William Edward Terry was charged earlier this week (January 6) with trespassing at the star’s Beverly Hills home in September.

He was due to be arraigned in court yesterday, but failed to appear at the court. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles City Attorney said the court had since issued a bench warrant for Terry’s arrest.

Perry was awarded a restraining order against the man after he reportedly climbed over the fence at her property while she was home with her then-newborn daughter. He allegedly refused to leave until he was apprehended by security.

He was placed under citizen’s arrest until the Los Angeles Police Department and arrived and arrested him for trespassing.
