‘New Year’, new music: Toby and Pip set 2021 off to a good start with uplifting new single

Having shared 11 years together, Toby and Pip have many treasured moments that they enjoy reliving through their music, one of these being the annual midnight moment of New Year’s Eve.

Wanting to continue to experience this moment together every year, their heartwarming pact inspired their uplifting single ‘New Year’, sending them and their listeners into 2021 with a comforting optimism.

The track kicks off with gentle acoustic guitar and Toby’s smooth vocals that embrace the listener, before Pip chimes in with her stunning singing skills. It’s clear that their lyrics have come from the heart and the connection between the couple can be heard through their soft harmonies which share a clear declaration of their love for each other.

The couple are currently busy filming a music video for the track, which will be shot in their hometown of London and will picture them visiting some of their favourite iconic landmarks before bringing in the new year at a big celebration with their famil..

Leif Coffield is due to release an electro-pop sensation ‘Say My Name’

Leif Coffield is due to release his brand new single ‘Say My Name’ in February; it’s a dark twist on electro pop.

He’s gained support from the highly influential Clash Music and national BBC Radio, but he’s looking to broaden his sound to a wider audience still.

Leif is based in Glasgow, taking inspiration from artists that defy the mainstream. In the lyrics of his latest track, he tackles the suppression of relationships and the need to rediscover himself:

“I try in each of my songs for them to have one unique element or one distinguishing factor that sounds out of the ordinary and that separates it from the norm. I take a lot of inspiration from artists that endeavor to break the mold and refrain from operating within the confines of the mainstream. Artists like Flume, FINNEAS, Kanye West, Bon Iver etc where pushing the boundaries of the creative process and what is conventionally palatable is key.”

The Fabulous Red Diesel live up to their name with ‘The Queensbury House Sessions’

The Fabulous Red Diesel stand themselves as unique and suitably eccentric with their new EP ‘The Queensbury House Sessions’. What makes it all the more impressive is that it was recorded in just one take.

The band is made up of a husband and wife on vocals, a transgender trumpeter and double-bassist, a synth player and a guitarist named Rabbi Jaff Delicious – I guess you could say the record is fittingly unconventional.

‘Butterfly Mind’, the band’s hit single, holds a hypnotic sound. It’s a song about love, and the inability for the feeling to just flutter away…

Writer Kat discusses the song’s meaning to her:

“It’s about the way my brain works and the way music flits from one person to another, changing their perception (hopefully for the better) by tiny inspirational touches. And then it’s also a love song – I am married to the drummer and I’m saying no matter how many twists and turns and expansions my mind has, I am always grounded in him – you know I’ve got a butterfly mind ..

James Fox’s upcoming single ‘The Rest of Our Lives’ is an ode to recovering from addiction

Welsh singer-songwriter James Fox’s upcoming single – set for release on January 29th – commemorates his escape from an all-consuming gambling addiction.

His recovery through music allows him to offer hope to others in similar positions, as he continues to thrive at what he loves.

In James Fox’s words on the writing of the track:

“This is a feel-good, guitar-driven love song, that speaks of new beginnings, love, hope and making plans for the future, something I think can resonate with all of us just now.”

‘All The Fours’, the album from which the track comes from, gives influences of rock, country, blues, and folk. To say the least, it encompasses a collection of thought-proving tunes that bubbles with diversity.

Fox plays every instrument himself, except the drums for which he recruited long-time friend Mike Sorrentino. Fox also wrote the songs within lockdown, making use of a time of reflection and worldwide standstill.
