Winchester 7 & The Runners bring the fuzz with their latest single ‘When the World Stops Spinning’

A wave of fuzz like no other, Winchester 7 & The Runners, has created a track with all the bite and musicality of 90’s grunge with the melody and quirk of alt lyricism. ‘When the World Stops Spinning’ is chocked full of addictive riffs, a memorable breakdown and a joyful vibe that transports the listener to a place of reckless fun.

With a dynamic opening that mimics live playing, leading into a strong riff-fronted tune accompanied by earthy vocals that add a lightness to the distorted backing, ‘When the World Stops Spinning’ starts as bold as it ends.

‘My Dying Bride’ Mispronunciation Makes Merch Masterpiece

Sky News presenter Gillian Joseph slipped up by announcing ‘My Dying Bride’ as ‘My Dying Wife’ to the dismay of fans. Instead of being offended, the band showed their sense of humour by creating a piece of merch to honour the moment, the proceeds of which will be donated to the ‘UK Metal Merger Campaign’. The campaign is a team of metal bands that have come together to raise money for live music crews that have gone through a hard time not being able to work in lockdown. Their song ‘Sorizon’ is a great representation of current metal rock bands and not to be missed if ‘Cradle Of Filth’ is up your street.

Wavewulf releases his spectacular celestial album ‘Space Art and Angels’

A connoisseur of vintage synths and keyboards, Wavewulf is an experimental artist to watch out for. Smooth production mixed with gargantuan soundscapes make for a unique and exciting take on electronic music. His ethos is just as wide as his music, basing his current album on concepts of the universe and the soul, of life and death and the human condition. He also used the tragic loss of his parents as inspiration, with songs that have all-encompassing feelings of desolation, awareness and poignant sadness, balanced out with songs that feel like a celebration of their lives, showing how much they meant to him. When you know the context it really gives you a whole new perspective when listening again. It hits differently.

Wavewulf really picks up on a variety of inspirations for his music, from David Bowie to Brain Eno. There are also references to video games and movies from the 80s and 90s as well as a particular proclivity for Depeche Mode, whose music started Wavewulf on his path ..

Winchester 7 & The Runners release a classic 80’s rock tune ‘When The World Stops Spinning’ with a ukulele twist

This one-man band creation is jam packed with classic 80’s rock sounds and psychedelic inspiration. Perfect for a bar brawl scene in a movie, this track has classic washed out cymbals and reverberated vocals, culminating in a colourful instrumental bridge that really takes the song to another level.

There is a brilliant character to this song, from the souped up ukulele to the cloned band members, inspired by Logan’s Run. The lyrics are pared back to leave room for the lively instrumental, the song builds up really well and is a definite foot tapper.

The lyric video has a persona of its own, with fun disguises for each ‘band member’ and hypnotic visuals, making you feel like you’re trapped in a strange loop that you can’t get out of, representing the lyrics of running away again and again but getting nowhere. Ryan Soanes proves Pop-Punk’s not fizzled out with his single ‘Call My Name’

Featured on his latest album drop, ‘The Journey’ (March 8th), Ryan Soanes elevates nostalgic 2000’s pop-punk with the highlight track ‘Call My Name’. Surrounded by ten songs that call back to emo and pop-punk nuances without feeling tired or out of place in the year 2021, the whole album is delightfully alternative and ‘Call My Name’ is a summation of everything the album does well.

Accompanied by a sleek and atmospheric lyric video, ‘Call My Name’ is indulgent. Using synths to create a melancholic tale of regret and longing, what could have been a simple pop-punk love song takes on a whole new tone, allowing typical instruments to adopt a subtle role in the backing and Soanes’ vocals to take centre stage.
