The sound of Grief and gratitude. Rasha Jay’s Spine-Chilling new single “Backbone”.

Rasha Jay Press-Release

At her musical essence, New Jersey singer-songwriter Rasha Jay encapsulates cross-genre soul-rock sentiments, setting her aside from the pack. Rasha Jay is due to release her latest and more emotive single, ‘Backbone’ on May 28th. Written during Feb 2020, just before a year like no other, Rasha describes the inspiration behind the newest single:

“I wrote this song in February 2020, ahead of a tumultuous year that we didn’t expect here in the US or in the world. I wrote it after hearing about my last uncle passing away on January 1st. I came home and went right to my keyboard and just started talking, then singing, then crying…and what came out of that was not just sadness and grief, but gratitude. My aunt passed away 30 days after him. Again, grief with gratitude. I felt honored to know them, to love them. That’s what Backbone is about–the visuals, the feelings, the notion of recognizing you are what you are because of a connection”.

Gambling Be Gone! James Fox On The Road To Redemption With New Single ‘Rest Of Our Lives’

In anticipation of his new single Rest of our lives, we look at the story behind this song of hope. We also look into the man behind the song, and that man, ladies and gentleman, is none other than James Fox!

Adding on to an illustrious career which includes two Top 20 UK singles to date; being the representative for the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004; working with national treasures and immense talents such as Sir Tim Rice and Tina Turner, as well as occupying multiple West End and Broadway roles, Fox looks to be a role model and a beacon of support for those who have experienced addiction like he has.

His upcoming single marks his return to music after suffering from a gambling addiction that almost ruined him. The track would prove therapeutic to his recovery and is set to come out on the 29th January 2021.

I have been as honest as I can possibly be with the lyrics on this album and have talked about everything from my issues with gambling, loss of family, friends, th..

James Fox’s upcoming single ‘The Rest of Our Lives’ is an ode to recovering from addiction

Welsh singer-songwriter James Fox’s upcoming single – set for release on January 29th – commemorates his escape from an all-consuming gambling addiction.

His recovery through music allows him to offer hope to others in similar positions, as he continues to thrive at what he loves.

In James Fox’s words on the writing of the track:

“This is a feel-good, guitar-driven love song, that speaks of new beginnings, love, hope and making plans for the future, something I think can resonate with all of us just now.”

‘All The Fours’, the album from which the track comes from, gives influences of rock, country, blues, and folk. To say the least, it encompasses a collection of thought-proving tunes that bubbles with diversity.

Fox plays every instrument himself, except the drums for which he recruited long-time friend Mike Sorrentino. Fox also wrote the songs within lockdown, making use of a time of reflection and worldwide standstill.

But Welsh singer-songwriter James Fox is here with a cheery, upbeat, brand new single to give us hope for the future of 2021. The track is aptly named ‘The Rest of Our Lives’, and is due to be released on 29th January.
