Released November 27th, Malcura IIis the new album from Melbourne based flamenco giantsMalcura. An exhilarating release that soars through an eclectic wall of sound, Malcura are no strangers to the music industry.

First owning their sound as buskers in Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall, the cross-genre – and very original – outfit.. Already performing alongside big stars such as Tash Sultana, Missy Higgins and Harry Manx, the trio have even shared the stage with finger-style giants Rodrigo Y Gabriela at the Palais Theatre.

A captivating journey through a space-themed storyline, the album introduces listeners to an astronaut called ‘Captain Snus’, and showcases the band’s journey through a black hole and exploring a new planets.

Showcasing their virtuoso musicianship, ‘Malcura II’ is an experience sent from the realms of outer-space. Weaving through genres of gypsy jazz, swing, surf rock and even metal elements, the new album is utterly mesmerising.

Malcura’s latest album is space themed. Yes, you read that right. The Melbourne-based band have their own unique sound of acoustic fusion which takes the listener on a true journey through jazz, rock and roll, heavy metal and electronic genres. Throwing everything into their music is Malcura’s clear speciality.

The album features lead track ‘Captain Snus’, a musical story about an astronaut undertaking a mysterious journey to a new planet. The quirky artwork shown throughout in a video game style is courtesy of Jamie Peters.
