Brooklyn based Thai-Chilean singer and songwriter Araya is following in the footsteps of revolutionary lo-fi/r&b artists like Joji and Easy Life who are shaping perspectives of modern music.
Using his music to express his identify and encourage others to do the same, his creativity can be seen through his thoughtful videos, individual fashion sense and his willingness to never tie himself down to a particular genre.
Born and raised in New York, like many young people Araya has always dreamt of a career in music, first writing his own tracks at just 10 years old. He uses his music as an opportunity for self-understanding and reflection, taking the listener on a journey into his mind.
“I think my music is mainly inspired by curiosity to forever learn and further investigate certain parts of myself that have led me to a deeper understanding of my place here. I think music has provided me a space to dissect my thoughts and experiences in an organic way that is lasting. The drafts of bot..

“SFZ is one of those artists whose music puts society under the magnifying glass, and delivers, in every track, a cold shower of reality.” – Planet Singer
Following closely in the footsteps of other British breakthrough rappers such as Dave, Classically trained pianist and rapper, SFZ (also known as Joe Ordish) is bursting onto the UK Hip Hop scene and making waves with his unique, interesting raps and classical piano fusion.
With the surge of lo-fi hip hop and rap into the popular music scene, this style slots perfectly into the gap of what we were missing, bringing us real hard-hitting lyrics with a melodic juxtaposition to the piano.
Joe flexes all of his skills on this track, not just composing and writing the song, but self-recording and producing as well. It’s no surprise that BBC Introducing has already caught wind of the rapper.
Elevate is the debut single for SFZ; it’s a super-chill..
87 and The Toys are one of those outfits that come along and steal your heart instantly. Best described as creating music that’s bathed with memorable lo-fi melodies, garage rock elements and retro-indie, ‘Japanesy If You Pleasey‘ is their latest adventure.
Filled with seven tracks that demonstrate the band’s desirable talent, 87 and The Toys are from Portland and are armed with music to make you move. Fitting somewhere between Violent femmes, The B52’s, Daniel Johnson and Neutral Milk Hotel, the glorious sound of 87 and The Toys is nostalgic yet highly original.
“Japanesy If You Pleasey” was released October 13th and features an authentic production that showcases that imperfections sometimes make perfections in music. First track ‘Georgia Governor Kemp’ tells the story of the Republican Governor of Georgia’s attitude towards COVID-19, and is a surprising yet passionate start to the EP.
“Bojack” is a single that tells the tale of, you guessed it, Bojack Horseman. With the song’s ..
